Vadtal sadhu of Swaminarayan temple was found murdered
On Saturday a sadhu of Vadtal Swaminarayan temple was murdered in his residence located in the temple premises.
50-year-old Sadhu Dharm Tanmaydasji’s body was found on Saturday afternoon after neighbours entered his residence because of the bad smell coming out from the house.
Police was called at the site. Police suspect that the murder had taken place at least 20 hours before the body was found. The sadhu had stab wounds on his chest and stomach.FIR at Chaklasi police station by lodged with IG and SP level of cops investigating the case. Dog squad was called at site.
Police ruled out the possibility that the murder could have taken place when the assailants were looting the place. Preliminary inquiry conducted by the police has revealed that the sadhu belonged to Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, and used to live in the enclave beside the temple premises. Two-storied bungalows have been built by the temple trust as accommodation for the priests of the temple, police said.
There were controversy with the Vadtal seat of the Swaminarayan sect for nearly two decades. The chief priest of the temple,Swami Gadadharanand murdered in May 1998. The temple management was also in the news later for a sex CD scam a decade ago.
