Ahmedabad, Gujarat – 07th May 2025 – In a significant step towards sustainable nutrition and child welfare, Veer Plastics Private Limited, a leader in manufacturing of polyolefin-based packaging and technical textiles, has contributed a CNG-powered delivery vehicle to The Akshaya Patra Foundation, the implementing partner of the Government of India’s PM POSHAN Abhiyan (formerly Mid-Day Meal Scheme). As the world’s largest NGO-run school feeding program, this initiative is aimed at enhancing sustainable logistics while nourishing thousands of children every day.
The newly deployed CNG vehicle will serve approximately 2,000 freshly cooked mid-day meals daily to 8–10 government schools in Gandhinagar District of Gujarat, ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery. By reducing carbon emissions and fuel expenses, this contribution reinforces a green and scalable model for social impact. The company had earlier supported digital education for 100 government school children in Thane District of Maharashtra and is now exploring long-term CSR collaborations in sustainable eco-systems and beyond—especially in regions where it has a business presence.
