300 teachers made Silent Protest at DEO Office in Banaskantha
Today in Banaskantha district, about 300 teachers made Silent Protest at DEO District Education Office.
Teachers demanded implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations and appointment of Principal in granted schools.
Also, teachers of Junagadh joined Silent protest of Banaskantha teachers.
Gujarat has a shortfall of 13,000 teachers in the state in primary schools. Gujarat government has accepted the fact after Congress repeatedly condemned the state government on the declining quality of education among children in the state.
As facts and figures presented in Gujarat Assembly, it was seen that out of the total 1,80,601 teachers across the state, only 1,67,461 are working. Posts of 13,140 primary teacher are still vacant.

Tribal districts of Dahod and Panchmahal and remote districts of Banaskantha and Kutch, have the lowest number of primary teachers.
In Kutch, 2,724 posts are vacant, in Banaskantha, 1,741 vacancies have still not filed yet. In Dahod, 912 post are vacant and the recruitment process has not even started yet.
In another set of data represented by the BJP state government, more than 2,400 teachers are missing for science and mathematics subjects in upper primary classes.
The Banaskantha has maximum shortfall of teachers, with a total of 404 teachers missing for both the subjects. With Panchmahal having 382 post vacants , Ahmedabad region with 230 vacancies and Dahod with 203 .
