ARTEMIS II PROVES SPACE IS REAL AGAIN IN THE AGE OF AI

LONDON (Apr 13): Today, NASA’s journey in human space exploration is backed by an extensive collection of records — from documents and artifacts to historic images — that capture its past missions. Now, with the successful completion of Artemis II mission around the Moon, a new chapter is adding a fresh perspective to space exploration.

One of the most powerful elements of this mission is the stream of digital images sent back to Earth, even while the journey was still underway. These visuals offer a real-time glimpse into what the astronauts experienced, bringing space closer to people than ever before.

For generations born after Apollo 17 mission — which provided humanity’s last close-up views of the Moon in 1972 — such moments may feel almost unreal, especially in an era dominated by AI-generated deepfakes.

However, Artemis II is no illusion. It is a genuine mission, carried out by four astronauts who can now share their journey through authentic images preserved on memory cards, securely returned to NASA.
