Gandhinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has completed its candidate selection for the upcoming Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) election 2026, announcing candidates for all 11 wards of the civic body.
The party’s final announcement covers the remaining three wards, taking the total number of BJP candidates to 44 — four candidates from each of the 11 wards.
Earlier, BJP had announced candidates for eight wards, including Wards 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. The subsequent announcement filled the remaining seats in Wards 2, 4 and 6, completing the party’s slate for the election.

Ward 1: Shilpaben Kanuji Thakor, Anjanaben Sureshbhai Mehta, Gaurang Sureshbhai Patel and Maheshkumar Natubhai Chaudhary.
Ward 2: Sonalben Mehulbhai Vaghela, Diptiben Manishbhai Patel, Arvindji Dahyaji Thakor and Anilsinh Mahobatsinh Vaghela.
Ward 3: Mitalben Hardikbhai Khimsuriya, Sonali Uren Patel, Ankit Ashwini Barot and Umeshbhai Rameshchandra Jha.
Ward 4: Mittalben Gajendrasinh Vaghela, Josnaben Mehalaji Thakor, Rupsinh Ranaji Thakor and Jashpalsinh Pravinsinh Bihola.
Ward 5: Hemaben Manthankumar Bhatt, Dhvani Dhaval Shah, Kanhaiyalal Gandabhai Desai and KinjalKumar Hareshbhai Patel.
Ward 6: Lilaben Viramji Charel, Rinkuba Parthrajsinh Dodiya, Nileshkumar Natvarlal Maheriya and Rajdeepsinh Vikramsinh Gol.
Ward 7: Kinjalben Dineshbhai Thakor, Sonalba Ghanshyamsinh Vaghela, Bhavik Gunvantbhai Sutariya and Shaileshkumar Vitthalbhai Patel.
Ward 8: Manishaben Miteshkumar Prajapati, Amitaben Kamleshbhai Upadhyay, Vishnuji Gandaji Thakor and Mehulbhai Ramanbhai Patel.

Election Schedule
The Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation election is scheduled to take place on October 11, 2026, while counting of votes is scheduled for October 13.
With the candidate list now complete, the BJP has formally fielded its nominees across all 11 wards. The announcement sets the stage for the next phase of the civic election campaign, with candidates expected to focus on local infrastructure, civic services, development and ward-level issues.
