The National Green Tribunal (NGT) will now oversee the aspect of industries polluting the Ganga, the Supreme Court said on Wednesday. Saying that it should not be understood as a move to distance itself from the issue, a bench headed by justice T.S. Thakur transferred a part of the petition on the issue to the NGT. The court is also looking at pollution caused by domestic waste and other sources.
