27 May 2026 Ahmedabad/Kutch: In a major breakthrough against maritime narcotics smuggling, the Indian Coast Guard, in coordination with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad, successfully seized approximately 115 kilograms of cocaine worth nearly ₹1,150 crore during a joint operation conducted off the Mundra coast on the night of May 25–26, 2026.

According to official information, the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs regarding suspicious maritime smuggling activity in the Arabian Sea region near Gujarat’s coastline.
During the operation, an Indian Coast Guard interceptor boat recovered five bags containing narcotics that were allegedly jettisoned from a vessel identified as MV Europe under low-visibility night-time conditions.
Officials said the vessel remains under investigation by the Indian Coast Guard, Gujarat ATS, and other allied agencies to determine the origin, intended destination, and possible international links connected to the drug consignment.
Authorities have termed the seizure a major success in India’s ongoing crackdown against international drug trafficking networks operating through maritime routes.
This operation marks the 15th successful joint anti-narcotics operation carried out by the Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS over the past five years, highlighting the strengthening coordination between maritime security and law enforcement agencies.
Security agencies reiterated their commitment towards safeguarding India’s coastline and advancing the vision of a “Nasha Mukt Bharat” through sustained anti-drug enforcement operations.
Further details are expected to be shared during the official press briefing by senior Gujarat Police officials at the ATS Office in Ahmedabad.
