Ahmedabad: Monsoon has not officially arrived in Gujarat. However atmosphere is cloudy in the state for 2 days giving indications of start of monsoon season. On Sunday, Saurashtra and South Gujarat received torrential rains. On Monday it lashed in North Gujarat too. IMD Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in next few days. Red Alert has also been given in some districts. Rain is predicted in 104 districts of the state.
In Gujarat, it has rained in 104 districts upto 8 pm tonight. Lalpur of Jamnagar district has received the highest rainfall of 2.5 inches. Apart from it, Surat, Tapi, Devbhumi Dwarka have received about 1.5 inches of rain. Total 20 districts have received over 1 inch of rain. Saurashtra, North Gujarat, Central Gujarat and South Gujarat has remained cloudy in first round of rain in Gujarat. This year Monsoon entered in Gujarat from Navsari and now its is moving towards Saurashtra. It is good for Sausrashtra farmers that rain has entered Saurashtra region of Gujarat state.
