Subsequent to 10 % reservation in government jobs and in college admissions will now be reserved for people outside high income brackets as President Ram Nath Kovind has cleared a landmark bill passed by parliament this week.
Gujarat government has taken lead in its implementation and become number one state in applying 10 % reservation benefits to the state government jobs and college admissions to candidates falling under Economically Weak Upper Castes category.
In Gujarat, the benefits would be effective from 14th January.
