Today Supreme Court of India grants interim protection to Congress MLA and Patidar leader Hardik Patel and restrains Gujarat police from arresting him in case registered against him in 2015 Patidar agitation case.
Hardik got relief from apex court granted anticipatory bail till March 6.
A bench of two justices UU Lalit and Vineet Saran gave notice to the Gujarat government on the plea of Patel seeking quashing of the case against him.
“The case was lodged in 2015 and the investigation is still pending in the matter. You can’t sit on the case for past five years,” the bench said.
