Massive fire in Mankhurd Scrapyard; 20 fire fighters at site

Today at 6 am incident of Massive fire was reported near Maya Hotel in Mumbai’s Mankhurd scrapyard. There is a hutment near the site.

Fire Officer at site said that Rescue operations get difficult as it is a congested area and there are many illegal godowns in the area. Lot of chemical is there in the scrapyard which makes difficult to extinguish the fire.

20 fire fighters and 8 water tankers rush at the spot. Flames of fire are visible fro distance.

Air pollution along Ghatkopar Mankhurd link road,Ghovandi,Kurla areas are affected.

Fire has partially been brought under control.

Reason of fire is not yet known.
