No Dhuleti celebration in Gandhinagar due to Coronavirus crisis

Big news regarding celebration of Dhuleti in Gujarat, considering crisis of Coronavirus, state government has decided not to celebrate Dhuleti in Gandhinagar Municipl Corporation areas.

Holi is a festival of joy and happiness which spread real colour and pleasure in the life of everyone. Holi festival of colors is on March 29, with Holika Dahan on March 28. Holi or Holika Dahan and the second day called Dhuleti or Rangwali Holi.

In Gujarat, Holi is a two-days long festival. On the evening of the first day people light the bonfire or Holika Dahan. People offer raw coconut and corn to the fire. The second day is the festival of colour or “Dhuleti”, celebrated by sprinkling coloured water and applying colours to each other.

Holika Dahan is celebrated to mark the death of Holika, representing the victory of good over evil. Holika (Sanskrit: होलिका), sometimes also known as Simhika was a demoness in Hindu Vedic scriptures, who was burnt to death with the help of god Vishnu.
