Today in Vadodara, on exposure of Cyber Fraud link from Vadodara by a gang of 17 perpetrators, all accused were taken into judicial custody by the court. In the fraud case, a former company official was cheated of Rs 94.18 lakhs by tempting him of handsome return in Stock Market through an Online Application ‘Angel One’. Originally from Andhra Pradesh, Ramakrishna Beduduri posted a Facebook Advertisement regarding investing in Stock Market and earning huge return. Victim was was added to a WhatsApp group by clicking on link provided by fraudster. Later he was asked to deposit a total of Rs 94.18 lakhs into different company accounts, against which a profit of Rs 11.26 crores was reflected in his App Wallet.
However, to withdraw the amount, a demand of Rs 33 lakhs at 3 % was made, leading Beduduri to file a complaint with Cyber Cell. In the case, Cyber Crime police arrested 17 accused from Vadodara and get them on a two-days remand from court.
Out of 17 accused, 11 were account holders, whereas remaining 6 persons are agents. The agents worked at commission of Rs 7,000 per transaction of Rs 5 lakh, whereas account holders get a commission of Rs 5,000.
17 accused are Abrar Khan Pathan (agent), Shahrukh Vohra (agent), Zarar Saudagar (agent), Adnan Shaikh (agent), Kabir Mansuri (agent), Sohil Shaikh (agent), Mir Salim, Wasim Belim, Mohammad Aftab Beg, Salim Shaikh, Liyaqat Shaikh, Mehboob, Shahrukh Dhobi, Sahil Sheikh, Iqtiyar Saiyed, Gomcy Dave, and Ramiz Qadri.
