Expressing condolences on the demise of senior Gujarat Congress leader, former Member of Parliament and former MLA Virjibhai Thummar, All India Congress Committee General Secretary and Organisation In-charge MP Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the news of Thummar’s passing had left everyone deeply saddened.
Surjewala said that with Virjibhai Thummar’s demise, the Congress family had lost a veteran leader whose simplicity, affection for people, sense of duty and deep association with agriculture and farmers would always remain etched in the hearts of the people.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Thummar’s family, relatives, supporters and well-wishers. He particularly expressed his sympathies to Thummar’s daughter and Congress leader Jeni Thummar, praying that she and the family find strength to overcome the loss and that Virjibhai’s blessings and values continue to guide their lives.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Chavda and Leader of the Congress Legislature Party Dr. Tushar Chaudhary also paid tribute to the veteran leader.
They said that the Congress had lost an experienced leader and veteran fighter. Whether in the cooperative sector or in the functioning of the Congress party, Virjibhai Thummar consistently provided leadership and worked for the interests of farmers, the cooperative sector and the common people.
They said his long public life was marked by continued efforts for farmers, cooperatives and the welfare of ordinary citizens. His death has left a significant void in the Congress family as well as in Gujarat’s public life.
The entire Congress party expressed deep grief over the demise of Virjibhai Thummar.
