Avaada Foundation helps set up Covid Care Centre at Talsana in Surendranagar District

The Initiative Will Help Strengthen Healthcare Infrastructure In Rural Areas Which Are Most Adversely Affected During Ongoing Pandemic

Ahmedabad, May 07, 2021: Continuing its tireless efforts of facilitating the establishment of medical infrastructure in India’s fight against the deadlier second wave of Covid-19, Avaada Foundation is helping set up a Covid Care Centre at Talsana village of Surendranagar district in Gujarat. Avaada Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Avaada Group of companies and is engaged in several social welfare activities, with a significant focus on children’s education, medical facilities in rural areas, skill development, women empowerment, and so on. During the pandemic, Avaada Foundation’s efforts are focussed on providing medical equipment, including ventilators, oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, and food items to the needy during the pandemic.

As part of the ongoing project, Avaada Foundation is helping the primary health centre (PHC) of Talsana village to establish a Covid care centre. The PHC is being renovated to include ICU beds, saline stands and medicine trays along with other facilities. Arrangements are also being made by Avaada Foundation to ensure round-the-clock supply of electricity, drinking water facility including providing healthy food for the patients.

Explaining the initiative, Mr Vineet Mittal, Chairman, Avaada Group, said, “We’re going through one of the most challenging times and collective effort and shared responsibility is the only way we can all fight the deadly coronavirus. On these lines, at Avaada Foundation, all our efforts are diverted towards providing medical support in rural areas by helping arrange for isolation beds, medicines, food items, oxygen plants, oxygen concentrators & ventilators. It is encouraging to see that CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Foundation and its member come forward to share the responsibility. Being a socially responsible company, we pledge to protect and empower our communities.”

With a massive surge in cases in the second wave of infections, the impact is more adversely seen in the rural areas which have poor medical infrastructure along with little human capital required to manage critical patients.

Apart from Gujarat, Avaada Foundation has also announced its plans to set up four hospitals with 300 beds along with two oxygen plants, Ventilator (BiPAP) & Oxygen Concentrators at different locations in Rajasthan & Maharashtra.

The initiative of setting up a Covid care centre is part of Avaada Foundation’s decision to help set up hospital and isolation beds in some identified areas.
